The annual course in entrepeneurship at DTU has concluded as per usual with a start-up pitch competition. 7 start-ups competed for the first prize, a 3000DKK cash prize sponsored by DOPS.
The competition is open for all technical fields and this year saw several photonics based businesses being presented.
The winner LidAir was selected by a panel consisting of Lars-Ulrik Aaen Andersen head of department at DTU Electro, Troels Keldmann residental industry fellow at DTU Entrepeneurship and Asger Jensen representing DOPS.
The winning project team presented a plan to commercialize detection of air turbulence from take off and landing of aircraft at airports using lidar in order to reduce the time between takeoffs. The panel unanimously agreed that they presented a credible and well thought through plan and thus deserving of the prize.
