Optogen 2025

May 6 @ 8:00 am May 8 @ 5:00 pm

The OPTOGEN conference series (www.optogen.eu) is the European Conference series on the most advanced multifunctional neurotechnologies for recording and controlling brain activity.

It started in 2014 and is held yearly in Europe, rapidly becoming one of the reference conferences in the world on photonic and multifunctional technologies for studying the brain.

Recent editions were held in Prague (2024), Lecce (2023), Paris (2022) and Venice (2019), attracting scientists, students and companies from all around the world.

Optogen2025 will be organized in Copenhagen on May 6-8 2025, with DTU as the main organizing institution and it is expected to be attended by about 150-200 persons.

The venue of Optogen2025 will be in the center of Copenhagen, bringing in Denmark the most active and renowned scientists in the field of optogenetics and neurophotonics.

About 20 eminent international speakers will deliver invited and keynote talks on their recent research in neuroscience and neurotechnologies. Contributed works are presented in the poster session. A few selected works are awarded with the upgrade to a short oral presentation or the best poster award.

It will be a great chance for the Danish research system to meet several experts in advanced photonics applied to neuroscience. It will help in stimulating new research in this field, matching the available Danish technological capabilities and activities with the need of novel technologies for controlling and recording by light the electrical and biochemical activity of neurons with high precision and specificity.

Optogen2025 will also allow PhD students in Denmark to meet international specialists, and to the Danish photonics and neuroscience community to showcase its research, build links and start cooperation with the large network of scientists attending the conference.

Optogen2025 is endorsed by the Danish Society for Neuroscience.

The Neuroscience Academy Denmark and the FENS Forum will also promote the event among their communities.
